Overview
Our club development aim is to work with key partners to ensure our young volunteers of all abilities can participate in high quality football sessions both in and out of school, college or university. Through our County Football association Education Programmes we will enable young volunteers to gain recognised Football Association Qualifications which will allow them to progress their coaching qualifications further and enhance their credentials so that they may gain entry into Further Education, Higher Education or Employment.
Lancashire Football Association Education Programmes
A key area of work for 2011 - 2012 is developing and supporting young volunteers. The Football Association are keen to give young people the opportunity to learn about various aspects of the game and enable them to become active within the football workforce, this could be within a Local Charter Standard Club, within their own school or local community. There are number of exciting opportunities for young volunteers here in Lancashire.
Golborne Girls Player Development
The Golborne Girls Football Club Development Plan identified this area which was approved by Lancashire Football Association earlier this year. For 2012 we will be offering our players above the age of 12 the opportunity to participate in the Young Leaders Programme or The Young Volunteers Association.
We are hoping to link with a local school and obtain some local funding to cover some of the costs of this programme and keep individual costs to a minimum.
Why?
The main positive of GGFC is the fact that we have developed our workforce from within the club. The club and teams are growing and finding volunteers becoming a problem to maintain a good player to coach ratio. At 16 years of age the player drop off in girls football is massive. As a club we lose players and teams with years of experience. Our hope is that a few will remain involved in football even if they are not playing. We are looking to invest in the future of the club.
