The Football Association and Lancashire County Football Association acknowledges the role volunteers play throughout football and is keen to support the volunteer workforce by offering a range of opportunities and courses to develop their leadership experience.
The North West Regional County FA’s of Lancashire, Manchester, Cheshire, Liverpool, Isle of Man and West Riding have been working closely to develop an individual County FA Young Volunteers programnme. This year Lancashire County FA’s Young Volunteers camp will be held at the Lancashire Football Association, The County Ground, Thurston Road, Leyland from 9.45am - 4.45pm on Friday 17th February 2012.
The Young Volunteers Camp will cater for the demand that we experience for young volunteers coming into football from the School Games Volunteers programme. The Young Leaders camp will provide modules around Refereeing, Coaching Disabled Footballers and a Skills Coaches module in line with the National Skills Coaches programme. The modules will be delivered by fully qualified FA Regional and County Staff.
The aim and objective of the event is to provide Young Leaders with an abundance of football knowledge and ideas which will empower them to make a difference in their football communities. It will also enable them to progress onto future courses and programmes here at the Lancashire County FA.
Following on from the Volunteers Camp, the young volunteers must commit to further voluntary work in their local football club and / or school in order to use their new skills and develop their leadership experience further.
