Both teams 'were up for it' to say the least with all trying to get the ball initially but as the game settled down slowly but surely it was great to see both sets of players take what they do on the training ground onto the pitch.
The girls had to supplement the team with a few of the older members of the club and this did show in the first half with their matchplay experience. It must be said that the boys battled hard through the first half and slightly down on the score sheet.
Both goalkeepers were active throughout the match with some true end-to-end action, players finding space, making the pass and some impressive shots on goal.
The match a similar format right through an extended second half with all having a good time and providing some great entertainment.
The referee finally blew up at 5-5 with both teams still flat out and goal to goal.
For our little stars a chance for the coaching staff to see how they would truly cope in a match and for the parents a day to remember.
The reaction at the end from both sets of parents: a successful fixture and noteable day for both teams.
Well done to all players and no doubt we'll get another game or games in as the season continues.
