Girls Section
Established in 2003 Golborne Girls Football Club continues to provide the opportunity for players between the ages of 6 and 14 in our local community.
This season 2009/2010 has been a little difficult as members have left over the summer leaving insufficient numbers in most of our age groups.
This has given us the chance to take a good look at the club, our staff and the way in which we operate.
We have two main teams playing regularly that being the Under 10's and the Mixed squad. We have the option of an Under 9's team if we could attract 3 more individuals who want to play.
The Under 9's and Under 10's are registered to play in The Wigan & District Girls Football League. This a development league which allows the individuals to learn the game and be part of a team. Also within this league there are open day matches for those not quite old enough to play. These are organised every other month throughout the season. An introduction to matchplay for the little stars of the future.
The Mixed Squad play friendlies every Saturday morning and consist of players between 11 and 13 years of age.
For 2010 we are seeking a 5 or 7 a side league for this team.
